Privacy Policy
What we collect when you use TechZTalk, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 23 October 2026
TechZTalk (“TechZTalk”, “we”, “us”) runs techztalk.com, a directory where people discover and review software, SaaS products, AI tools and technology companies. This policy explains how we handle personal information. Questions: techztalk.com@gmail.com.
1. Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form). Optionally: company name, job title, short bio, website, LinkedIn URL and profile picture.
- Sign in with Google — if you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address and Google account ID with us, and confirms your email is verified. We do not receive or store your Google password, and we don’t keep Google access tokens.
- Listings and submissions — product and company details, logos and screenshots you submit, and edits you request.
- Reviews — your rating, review text, pros and cons. Your name and role are shown publicly with an approved review.
- Claims — when you claim a listing we may send a verification link to a work email address you provide, and keep the evidence you submit.
- Billing — if paid plans are offered and you buy one, your billing name, company, address and tax ID. Card details are handled by the payment provider; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Messages — anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
2. Information collected automatically
- Security and abuse prevention — your IP address is used to limit repeated attempts (for example, too many logins). It is stored with one-time email links and in our staff audit log, together with the browser’s user agent for staff actions.
- Usage counts — we count listing views, website clicks and saves per day, and keep the words people search for (without any name, email or account) to improve search and show popular searches.
- Cookies and browser storage — one essential session cookie keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. Your browser’s local storage remembers things like recent searches, comparison lists and guest favourites on your device only. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. How we use information
- To create and secure your account, sign you in, and verify your email.
- To publish and moderate listings, reviews and claims, and to show your public reviews.
- To send service emails — verification, password reset, moderation results, security notices — and the notifications you choose in your settings.
- To run search, rankings and statistics for the directory.
- To process payments for paid features, where offered.
- To prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and to comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for third-party advertising.
4. Who we share it with
- Service providers that run the site for us: web hosting and content delivery (Hostinger), email delivery, Google (sign-in, and web fonts loaded from Google’s servers), and a payment provider if you make a purchase.
- The public — content you choose to publish, such as approved reviews (with your name and role) and listing information.
- Listing owners — the owner of a product can see and reply to reviews of that product.
- Authorities — when required by law or to protect people and the service.
5. How long we keep it
- Account information is kept while your account is active and removed or anonymised after you ask us to delete it, except where we must keep records (for example, invoices).
- In-app notifications are deleted after about 180 days. One-time email links expire within hours.
- Security logs and backups are kept for a limited time and then overwritten.
6. Your choices and rights
- View and edit your profile and email preferences in your dashboard at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account, by emailing techztalk.com@gmail.com.
- Remove TechZTalk’s access to your Google account at any time in your Google Account settings (Security → Third-party connections).
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local data-protection law, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, protection against forged requests, rate limits, and access controls for staff. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
8. Children
TechZTalk is meant for professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; for important changes we’ll tell signed-in users.
10. Contact
