MIcrosoft Decreases The Price of Xbox 360 HD DVD Player to $179

Microsoft will be selling their Xbox HD DVD drive for $179 thats $20 less then the original price. But the best thing about this deal is the 5 free HD DVD you get with the player if you purchase between now and September 30th. You can select your 5 free HD DVD from a list of 15 pre-selected HD DVD list. We think Toshiba needs to do what ever it can to win the format war because it looks like they are losing it right now.

The Rumor has been around for a while but now Hollywood Reporter is citing an unnamed source that conforms that Xbox is indeed getting a price cut of $50. We think this is the right time to cut the price as Xbox sales have been down last month and Microsoft needs to take steps to get the sales back up before the launch of Halo 3.
