PS3 Motion Controller Coming Spring 2010 and One Million PS3 Slim Sold

Sony has announced that it will release new Motion Controller for PS3 in Spring 2010. Sony says the new controller, equipped with high-precision, highly accurate motion sensors, can deliver whole new entertainment experience on PS3 when combined together with the PlayStation Eye camera. The camera will be capable of recognizing and tracking a user’s face and voice as well as body motion, PlayStation Eye can also output the player’s image onto the TV screen.

The Motion Controller is equipped with two motion sensors, three axes gyroscope and three axes accelerometer. The sphere placed on the top of the controller is not only used to track the absolute position, but can also give visual feedback to users by changing the colors or the illuminating patterns on the sphere. The Motion Controller also features DUALSHOCK rumble effect for immersive gaming experience to users. Along with the new Motion Controller, Sony will deliver many exciting software titles for Motion Controller in 2010.

In other PS3 related news, Sony has shipped over one million PS3 Slim console in less than three weeks since it started shipping on September 1st.  Sony has seen more than 900 percent increase in PS3 sales after introduction of lower priced, slimmer and more power efficient PS3 Slim. Sony Japan has also announced a 250GB Ceramic White Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Edition PS3 Slim bundle, which will arrive in Japan on December 17th for 41,600 yen (about $450). No word yet on if the console will come to other parts of the world.
