AMD Introduces Radeon HD 7870 and 7850 Graphics Cards (Update – Review Links Added)

AMD today added two more graphics cards to their 28nm GPU lineup, the AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition and AMD Radeon HD 7850 graphics cards. Featuring AMD's cutting-edge Graphics Core Next Architecture (GCN) for spectacular performance and efficiency, the AMD Radeon HD 7800 series comes equipped with PCI Express 3.0 and the efficient AMD ZeroCore Power technology.

The AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition and AMD Radeon HD 7850 GPUs comes equipped with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, AMD PowerTune, AMD Eyefinity 2.0 and AMD CrossFire technologies for ultimate gaming experience. AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition is priced $349 and AMD Radeon HD 7850 is priced $249. Both the cards are available today.

Update: Reviews of both the new cards are very positive with most reviewers calling it the best choice available in the price range. TheTechReport, HotHardware, AnandTech and PC Perspective have posted detailed reviews of both the cards and they all reached the same conclusion - the new Radeon HD 7800 series cards are better options than comparable NVIDIA GeForces graphics cards.
