Google Sees a Gain in Search Share, Rest all See a Drop in April

According to ComScore, number of search queries fell to 10.6 billion, a drop of 2 percent in April compared to March. All the major search providers saw a drop in search share except Google. The company gained 1.8 percent compared to March and reached 61.6 percent search share. Yahoo share dropped 0.9 percent to 20.4, Microsoft saw a drop of 0.3 percent to 9.1 percent, AOL had a drop of 0.2 percent to 4.6 percent and Ask dropped 0.4 percent to 4.3 percent. In April 2008 Google increased its absolute number of queries by 1 percent, but rest of the companies saw a drop.
