Financial Times is reporting that cumulative sales of Nintendo Wii have overtaken those of the Xbox 360, making it the world’s best selling next generation games console in spite of having been on the market a year less than Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Based on sales data from NPD Group, Enterbrain, and GfK the console sales break down is:
Nintendo Wii: 9 million units
Xbox 360: 8.9 million units
Playstation 3: 3.7 million units
So after 17 years Nintendo is again the king of gaming console market.
