Last week, Microsoft talked about their plans to ship Windows Mobile 7 in second half of 2010. But, now reports are emerging that Microsoft has quietly pushed back Windows Mobile 7 launch to 2011. According to Macnn, representatives from Microsoft, as well as partners like HTC and NVIDIA don’t expect to see the new phone OS until Mobile World congress next year. It is also believed that the delay was the main reason why NVIDIA didn’t emphasis Window Mobile to promote its upcoming Tegra 2 mobile platform, and exclusively used Android devices to launch the platform. If Windows Mobile 7 is again delayed this can be a serious blow to Microsoft’s ambitions in mobile market. Motorola has already dropped Windows Mobile in favor of Android and HTC is also focusing more on Android devices for the coming year. And it very likely that Microsoft’s other big partners like Samsung and LG will also follow the suit, if the rumors are true.
