Acer Introduces 11.6-inch Ferrari One Ultraportable

Acer has added new 11.6-inch ultraportable laptop to its Ferrari-branded notebook lineup. Like other Ferrari branded laptops from Acer, the new laptop has a red top case with Ferrari logo and one-touch shortcut key to Ferrari’s website. Hardware specifications are not as impressive as Ferrari’s name, as the laptop comes with 1.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor, 4GB DDR2 RAM, 250GB Hard drive, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 graphics, WiFi, multitouch trackpad, three USB ports and VGA video out. The laptop weighs 3.31 pounds and has 5 hours battery life.

Why would Ferrari allow Acer to brand a laptop with such underpowered configuration as "Ferrari One". It is almost as if you placed Ferrari’s sticker on a 1.4 liter, 4-cylinder car that has 120 horsepower and  reaches 0-60 in 13 seconds. To associate the laptop with Ferrari, we at least expect a laptop that features at least 2.8GHz dual core processor and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850 / 4870 graphics, but with 1.2GHz processor its useless.

Acer Ferrari One is available now for $599.99 on Amazon.
