Neil Mawston of Strategy Analytics is reporting that Apple’s is working on MacBooks with built-in 3G support. He says that it is the next logical step for Apple to added 3G to the Pro, Air and even regular MacBook. He further adds that Apple will add 3G to increase Mac sales with the help of wireless carriers in the US and Europe who can sell the new Macs to iPhone owners on their network. Mawston suggests that 3G could be added as early as upcoming Macworld Expo in January 2009.
In other Apple related news, Macnn is reporting that Apple might refresh its iMac and Mac mini lineup next week, according to anonymous sources. Macnn says that the announcement is scheduled for November 10th. Specifications of the upcoming desktops are unknown, but it is almost given that Apple will follow the MacBook lead and use NVIDIA chipsets in the new desktop lineup. Like the MacBook, the Mac mini will be the biggest beneficiary of this switch, as it will also show 5x the performance when compared to present mini’s that are based on Intel’s chipsets.
