Few days back Verizon announced that it would start shipping the new Blackberry Storm on November 21st. But at that time no information about pricing for the device and monthly services was released, well that has changed today. Verizon today announced that with two-year contract the phone would be available for $199.99 after $50 mail-in rebate. With one-year agreement it will cost $299.99 and without contract it will be priced $599.99. The BlackBerry Storm will require a Nationwide Email Plan along with Nationwide Voice plan. The combined monthly plans will start at $79.99 per month.
BlackBerry Storm will be available through Verizon and Best Buy stores. Verizon has started advertising the phone as “The World’s First Touch Screen BlackBerry”. We don’t understand why so many companies are fascinated by World’s First title. RIM never made a touchscreen phone before, so there was no BlackBerry with touchscreen. The truth is Strom is the first touchscreen BlackBerry and there have been many companies making touchscreen phone for past few years, there is nothing “World’s First” about it. You can get more information about Storm on Verizon’s website. Verizon has also posted Apple like guided tour for Storm on the website.
