Asus Introduces First Smartphone P565 with 800MHz CPU

Asus today introduced their new P565 PDA phone with 800MHz processor. Asus claims that the phone is the fastest in the world. The phone is based on Windows Mobile 6.1 and uses a touch-driven user interface – Glide – an innovative touch interface designed by Asus. Asus says that the new phone posted Vsbenchmark scores almost two times that of competing products in its class. The company didn’t say what the score was or what devices were compared.
Specification-wise the P565 comes with 2.8-inch 480 x 640 touchscreen, Marvell TavorP 800MHz CPU, 128 MB of DDR SDRAM, 256MB of onboard storage, HSDPA 3.6Mbps (2100MHz), tri-band GSM/EDGE, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth, 3-megapixel camera and microSDHC card slot. On software side it has multimedia player, Word editor, Excel editor, PowerPoint editor, Push Email and WAP Browser with support for HTTP / WAP 1.2.1/2.0. No word on pricing or availability yet.
