RIM today announced various new software features that will be coming to Blackberry platform within next one year at BlackBerry Developer Conference in San Francisco. RIM will bring OpenGL ES 2.0 support to all BlackBerry devices running OS 5.0 or higher. The OpenGL ES will bring Blackberry on par with many smartphone available today in 3D graphics. A new plug-in for the Eclipse development environment will make building app GUI easier and more attractive. RIM also announced that themes for BlackBerry phones could now be submitted to App World. For development of themes, BlackBerry Theme Studio is now available that supports change in home screen layout, fonts, icons, colors, cursors and more. RIM will bring in-app payment system to the App World in mid 2010. BlackBerry developers will also get API for Push Service in early 2010 to provide time sensitive alerts directly to the device. The biggest news that came out of the developer conference was tighter integration with Adobe products. Adobe Creative Suite 5 will have direct file exports for BlackBerry optimized formats and BlackBerry specific web layouts. Consumer offerings from Adobe like Photoshop Elements will also have better BlackBerry integration. BlackBerry will get full Flash 10 support in mid 2010.
