HTC Surround in one of the first Windows Phone 7 handset shipping in US on AT&T. The phone features a 3.8-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, slide-out speaker, 16GB onboard storage, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth and GPS. The phone measures 4.2” x 2.4” x 0.5” and weighs 5.8 ounces with up to 4 hours of talk time and 11 days standby. HTC Surround is available on AT&T priced $199 with two-year contract and can be bought on Amazon for $99.99 with contract.

Though reviews of Windows Phone 7 as an OS have been largely positive, but the reviews of HTC Surround have been average at the best. Most reviewers agree that Samsung Focus is a better Windows Phone 7 handset available on AT&T. Laptop Mag’s Sean Ludwig wrote in his review “The HTC Surround is what happens when a company has to be creative within a set of specific limitations. While we applaud HTC for creating an innovative design with its slide-out speaker, the phone as a whole doesn't fully deliver as a multimedia-centric device. Apple’s iPhone 4 still reigns supreme on AT&T with its amazing display, impressive camera, and incredible app ecosystem, but we hope that future Windows Phone 7 devices take design risks such as HTC did with the Surround.”
