Dell has officially released two new 16:9 aspect ratio LCD displays, 22-inch S2209W and 23-inch S2309W. Both the displays even though smaller in size than other 16:9 display released by Dell maintains the 1080p resolution, making them perfect for HD video viewing. The other feature shared by the two displays are 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms pixel response time, 300cd/m2 brightness, 170 degree viewing angle, DVI with HDCP support and VGA input. Though, there is only one-inch difference in size the price difference between the two displays is $60 because the lower end 22-inch S2209W uses lower-cost twisted nematic LCD panel that reduces the amount of visible colors. The S2209W is priced $239 and the S2309W is priced $299, and are available now on Dell’s website.
