Analyst Mike Abramsky recently spoke with various Apple executives including chief financial officer, Peter Oppenheimer; VP of iTunes and Internet services, Eddy Cue and VP of worldwide Mac marketing, David Moody. After talking to the executives Mike wrote in his research note that Apple officials believe “Video content is expected to be the next ‘exploding’ opportunity, but requires overcoming industry rights dysfunctionality, competing with other subsidies, and developing the right consumer offer.”

Mike further added that Apple was less enthusiastic about the online book/newspaper market and called it “unattractive industry structure”. Mike believes contrary to recent rumors that Apple is talking to various print media outlets about upcoming tablet, video will be the main focus of upcoming Apple tablet.

However, like Appleinsider points out, “Apple in the past has been known to mislead just before a new product arrives. The company suggested it has no interest in the complex phone business model just before it debuted the iPhone, and it also said it could not create a sub-$1,000 Mac before the $400 Mac mini was unveiled.”

As we wrote before, no one really knows what Apple has planned for the upcoming Apple tablet. Every analyst is just doing guesswork based on the information they learned from various rumor sites.
