Apple Engineers Taking Numerous Trips to Manufacturing Plants in China for a New ProductSubmitted by lalit on October 29, 2009 - 8:20am.
Business Insider is reporting that many Apple engineers have been taking numerous trips to China and are visiting manufacturing plants in China where the yet unannounced Apple Tablet will be manufactured. “A source tells us a system integration engineer friend of his at Apple has ramping up his travels back and forth between China lately, broadcasting word of his travels over the Internet,” said the report. “There’s even a few weeks scheduled during the Christmas holiday season.” The Christmas week schedule indicates that Apple is ramping up production of the new tablet so that they can launch it in first quarter of 2010. It is believed that Foxconn in Taiwan will be the manufacturing partner of Apple for production of the tablet. Apple plans to have around 300,000 tablets ready for first quarter of launch. In another Apple related news, C-Tech a battery supplier announced that Apple has contracted the company to produce power cells for its iPhone and iPods. C-Tech makes 500,000 notebook batteries and 2.5 million handset batteries every month at its two plants in China. The new battery suppler could be used for the reported increase in iPhone 3GS production to meet the holiday season demand, or there is a possibility that Apple will use the batteries in upcoming Apple tablet.
