T-Mobile announced today that the new BlackBerry flip-phone Pearl 8220 is available in black color now for $149 with two-year contract. A dark red color version will be released on October 20th for same price. The phone comes with 2-megapixel camera, quad band GSM, EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD card slot and sure type keypad. It measures 2.0” x 3.9” x 0.7” when closed and weighs 3.6 ounces. The battery life on the phone is 4 hours talk time and 15 days standby time. The Pearl 8220 will support T-Mobile’s my Faves and HotSpot services. T-Mobile says that the 8220 supports “Real web browsing”, but doesn’t mention whether the browser is full HTML or a mobile browser. The phone will come with stereo hands free headset and 256MB memory card. You can order the phone on T-Mobile’s website.
