Verizon Introduces Samsung Stratosphere First 4G LTE Smartphone with QWERTY Keyboard

Verizon Wireless and Samsung Mobile today announced the Samsung Stratosphere, a Galaxy S smartphone that will be available exclusively on Verizon Wireless. The Stratosphere is the first 4G LTE smartphone from Verizon featuring slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Verizon is aiming the new handset at business professionals with built-in features like VPN, encryption, Mobile Device Management (MDM), Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Cisco AnyConnect and Sybase Afaria. The Android 2.3 Gingerbread based handset comes with 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 5-megapixel back camera, 720p video recording, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and microSD card slot.

The Samsung Stratosphere will be available on Oct. 13 in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online on Verizon’s website for $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
