Digitimes is reporting that Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) will be manufacturing partner for upcoming tablet PC from Apple. Apple will start shipping the device in first quarter of 2010 and they initially expect to ship around 300,000 to 400,000 units per month.

The tablet will be based on 10.6-inch touchscreen, which will be sourced from Innolux Display a subsidiary of Foxconn. Digitimes’ sources believe that the new tablet PC will focus more on e-book functionality rather than music and it will have long battery life, quick Internet access and as easy-to-use interface.

Most rumors now point to early 2010 release of the Apple tablet. Our sources are also very sure that Apple will announce the new tablet within six months. However, they are not sure about the screen size, which they believe should be less than 10-inch. And also the tablet will be full-fledged multimedia device with e-book functionality. The video below is an intresting concept on how the Apple tablet should work.
