Not to be out done by Amazon’s Kindle Fire announcement this week, Samsung has launched their new tablet Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. The Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) based tablet features a 7-inch screen, weighs 345g (0.76 pounds) and is just 9.96mm (0.39-inch) thick, making it both thinner and lighter than Kindle Fire that weighs 0.91 pounds and is 0.44-inch thick. “Samsung pioneered the seven-inch tablet market with the launch of the GALAXY Tab, marking an innovation milestone in the mobile industry. Building on the success of the GALAXY Tab, we’re now delighted to introduce the GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus reloaded with enhanced portability, productivity and a richer multimedia experience,” said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business. He added, “GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus is for those who want to stay productive and in touch with work, friends and content anytime, anywhere.” Other features of the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus are dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 7-inch 1024 x 600 PLS LCD, 1GB RAM, 3-megapixel back camera, 2-megapixel front camera 16GB or 32GB onboard memory, optional 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and microSD card slot. GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus will be available starting in Indonesia and Austria from end-October and gradually rolled to globally including Southeast and Southwest Asia, US, Europe, CIS, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, and China.
