Sharp Intros Two New X-Series AQUOS LCD HDTVs at CEATEC 2008

CEATEC 2008 expo opened today in Japan and Sharp officially announced LC-65XS1U-S and LC-52XS1U-S, a 65-inch and a 52-inch AQUOS LCD HDTV respectively. Both the HDTVs are super thin at 22.8mm (0.89”), have contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and support full HD 1080p. The displays come fitted with 2.1 channel surround sound that uses five three-way speakers that Sharp developed with Pioneer. Sharp claims that the new displays will see 26 percent reduction in power use compared to similar sized HDTVs. Both the HDTVs will be available in Japan starting October 15th for undisclosed price.
