After troubling NVIDIA in both performance and mainstream segments of graphics card market, AMD is now focusing on budget segment by announcing two new graphics cards that undercut NVIDIA’s price point while offering performance. Both the cards HD 4550 and 4350 are based on same graphics engine found in Radeon HD 4800 series, and include capabilities like support for DirectX 10.1 and HD multimedia.
Both the cards are based on 55nm processor architecture. The HD 4550 has 80 stream processors, which delivers 96GFlops of performance. The graphics chips runs at 600MHz and the GDDR3 memory runs at 800MHz that offer 12.8 GB/s bandwidth. The HD 4350 also comes with 80 stream processors but has just 8.0 GB/s memory bandwidth. The graphics chips clocks 600MHz and the memory clocks 500MHz for HD 4350.
The ATI Radeon HD 4550 card plays demanding game titles and will come with 512MB video memory for just $59. The HD 4350 will come with 256MB memory for just $39. Both the cards will ship in October. You can get more information about both the graphics cards at TG Daily.
