Dell today introduced the Latitude Z – the world’s thinnest and lightest 16-inch laptop featuring lean, tapered design and soft-touch finish on the outside. The Z 600 is just 0.57-inch at its thinnest and 0.79-inch at its thickest. It weighs 4.5 pounds with 4-cell battery that can last up to 4 hours.

To get the weigh and thickness down, Dell removed the optical drive and used ultra low voltage Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor with integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. The base model of Latitude Z comes with 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor, 16-inch LED backlit screen, backlit keyboard, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 64GB SSD, 4 cell battery, WiFi a/g/n, Bluetooth and external optical drive for $1,799 after $200 instant savings.

The main features on the Latitude Z are touch controls, easy scan and copy, and wireless charging and docking. The Z’s touch controls include EdgeTouch LCD sensor, which sits on the side of your screen for scrolling or you can use the gesture-enabled touchpad for zooming, rotating or surfing. The optional 2-megapixel autofocus web camera on Z comes with Dell Capture technology that lets you scan and save business cards to Outlook or copy documents to PDF. The Latitude Z features support for wireless UWB and inductive charging for optional power cable free charging and docking stand.

If you want top of the line Latitude Z with all the features mention above the price could easily reach over $3,200. You can get more information about Latitude Z on Dell’s Website. We have added two marketing videos from Dell showcasing the new Latitude Z.
