Apple iPhone Press Event on October 5th for Announcement of Two New Models

All the recent rumors are hinting at an October iPhone 5 launch and now Pocket Gamer is reporting that Apple is gearing up for an October first week iPhone 5 announcement. Jon Jordan wrote, “Our inside source says there will be a press conference announcing the new hardware on October 5th, with retail release occurring a week later.”

This rumor along with every other rumor that we have heard recently agrees on September end or early October iPhone press event. However, most of these rumor reporters don’t agree on what this Apple event will be about, will it be a completely redesigned iPhone 5 or an iPhone 4S with updated processor and same design.

9to5mac says that there are two different models of iPhone coming next month. A low-end iPhone 4 like model that Apple will price aggressively and will produce in big number. The model will be offered in both prepaid and post paid plans. As for the second model, 9to5mac says there is some bad news, Seth Weintraub posted:

It appears that the tear-drop shaped iPhone 5 with larger screen and thinner, rounder body is seeing continued design and production delays, at least on one assembly line (Apple has multiple production sources – Pegatron, Foxconn, etc). We therefore think that iPhone 5 will be delayed slightly at the very least and may see shortages all the way into 2012.

According to 9to5mac the new iPhone 5 is a “sight to behold” with a very thin and light design. The camera on the new phone will rivals point and shoot cameras (maybe low-end) and will be a major marketing point for the iPhone 5.

Our sources say that iPhone 5 is the reason why Apple has been pushing the iPhone press event for past few months. As the iPhone 4 is, the new iPhone 5 will be like nothing on the market, and will show how far ahead Apple is from its competition both hardware and design-wise.
