Canon today launched a SLR teaser website with image of moon and a SLR in shadow. The SLR teaser site is gradually illuminating more of the new model as time passes. On the left side of the image the words “Destined EVOLUTION” are printed, pointing to the fact that the rumored mid-range digital SLR will use a full-frame image sensor. Though no other information is revealed through the website, but it is almost certain that the camera in the image is soon to be released EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR. From the image it looks like the new camera won’t have a pop-up flash, a constraint likely put by the size of a full-frame sensor. Assuming, Canon doesn’t want to let slip much more information about the new camera before official announcement, it can’t illuminate the image much further. This points to the likelihood that the rumors of September 17th launch of the new camera may be true.
