Intel Adds Five New Processors to Sandy Bridge Mobile Lineup

Intel has added five new processors to their sandy bridge mobile lineup including four Core i7 processors and one Celeron processor. The new flagship Core i7-2960XM extreme processor now has 2.7GHz clock speed (3.7GHz in Turbo mode), 4 cores, 8 threads, 650MHz GPU, 55W TDP and 8MB L3 cache. Following the extreme processor are two new quad-core mobile processors Core i7-2860QM and Core i7-2760QM. Both the processors have 8 threads, 650MHz GPU and 45W TDP. However, the higher end 2860QM has 2.5GHz clock speed (3.6GHz in Turbo mode) and 8MB L3 cache, whereas the 2760QM has 2.4GHz clock speed (3.5GHz Turbo mode) and 6MB L3 cache. The dual-core Core i7-2640M processor features 2.8GHz clock speed (3.5GHz in Turbo mode), 4 threads, 4MB L3 cache, 35W TDP and 650MHz GPU. The entry level Celeron B840 has 2 cores, 2 threads, 1.9GHz clock speed, no turbo mode, 2MB L3 cache, 650MHz GPU and 35W TDP.

The new processors Core i7-2960XM, Core i7-2860QM, Core i7-2760QM, Core i7-2640M and Celeron B840 are available now priced $1,096, $568, $378, $346 and $86 respectively. [Via Toms Hardware]
