Pre Central has received a tip that indirect partner retail dealer (like Best Buy) will be able to sell the Pre for $149.99 after $100 mail-in rebate to new customers. Other Palm phone will also receive a price drop like Centro will be available for $29.99, Treo 755p for $99.99, Treo 800w for $49.99 and Treo Pro for $199.99.

Palm Pre sales have been dropping steadily since Apple launched its iPhone 3GS just two weeks after Pre launch. It is believed that for every Pre sold Apple is selling more than 10 iPhone 3GS. Also Apple is selling the 8GB iPhone 3G model for just $99 making Pre look very costly at $199.99 with just 8GB of on board memory. The $50 price drop might inject some vigor in Palm Pre’s sales, but early Pre adopters might feel duped.
