Canon Unveils New High-End EOS 7D Digital SLR

Canon today officially announced the much-rumored EOS 7D digital SLR. The new camera features 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, dual DIGIC 4 processors, 8fps continuous shooting and full HD video recording. The EOS 7D comes with 19-point cross-type AF sensor offering a range of manual and automatic settings including Zone and Spot AF to track and capture subject quickly and accurately. The EOS 7D also incorporates new Focus Color Luminance metering system that intelligently measures focus, color and luminance across 63 zones.

The 7D has an Intelligent Viewfinder with 100 percent frame coverage and it is also the first EOS to introduce a Dual-Axis Electronic Level – in the viewfinder and on the LCD – that indicates both pitch and roll angles. The camera features a new 3-inch Clear View II LCD screen with 920k resolution. The ISO range offered by the camera is 100-6,400, which is expandable to 12,800. In movie mode that camera can capture 1080p video at 24, 25, or 30 frames-per-second, 720p video at 50 or 60 fps and 480p video at 50 or 60 fps.

Other features on the EOS 7D include EOS integrated cleaning system with fluorine coating, 9 picture styles, 9 shooting modes, optional wireless connectivity, HDMI port and 5 image processing modes. The Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR will ship by end of September. It is available for pre-order on Amazon body only price is 1,699.99 and price with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM zoom lens is 1,899.99.
