Samsung Joins the Ultra Thin and Light Laptop Race with X360

Samsung has also joined the 13.3-inch ultra thin and ultra light race by announcing their new X360 a 2.8 pounds notebook. The laptop is 0.66-inch thin at its thinnest side and 1.2-inch thick at its thickest side. Though not as sleek as the MacBook Air, but still impressive. Samsung will use the new Centrino 2 Ultra Low Voltage processors for the notebook (1.2GHz or 1.4Ghz). Storage options available are 64GB SSD, 128 GB SSD or 120GB 5400 RPM hard drive. The laptop will come with 1GB RAM standard – it can support up to 4GB memory. The 13.3-inch screen has 1280 x 800 resolution and the laptop uses X4500 integrated graphics card. X360 has no optical drive, but it comes with 7-in-1 card reader, three USB ports, PCI ExpressCard, HDMI out, VGA and Ethernet. Other features on the laptop are 1.3-megapixel webcam, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR. Samsung claims battery life range of 6 to 10 hours, for 10 hours will have to get the optional larger battery pack. Samsung has yet not announced that pricing or release date.
