AppleInsider: Apple to Unveil New iPod Lineup on September 9Submitted by lalit on August 26, 2009 - 1:03pm.
AppleInsider’s source says that Apple is planning to hold an event on September 9th to introduce iPod lineup for 2009 holiday season. Last week, All Things Digital also reported that sources close to Apple say the company is indeed planning a keynote event for Wednesday, September 9th. It has been rumored that Apple will introduce new iPod nano and iPod touch with integrated camera at the event. AppleInsider believes that cameras are just one piece to this year’s iPod story. However, the website says that the event will be music related only and the much rumored Apple tablet won’t be announced until first calendar quarter of 2010. It is also rumored that Apple will introduce iTunes 9 with social networking features integrated. Support for networking website like Facebook and Twitter, and Internet radio station like Last.fm will be added to iTunes 9. For past four years Apple has held the iPod event at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center and it is very likely that this year also the September 9th event will be held there. If Apple is planning a September 9 event Analysts and members of the media should get the invitations by next week.
