Canon Adds Four New Cameras To PowerShot Lineup

Along with the new mid-level 50D digital SLR, Canon also announced four new PowerShot cameras. The company launched two new A-series cameras, one new ultra-zoom SX-series camera and a new E1 camera focused on teenage markets.
The A-series get A1000 IS and A2000 IS digital cameras. The first one features a 10-megapixel sensor, 4X optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD screen. The A1000 IS will be available in four two-toned colors blue/silver, brown/silver, gray/silver and purple/silver. The second A-series camera A2000 IS is also a 10-megapixel camera with 6x optical zoom and 3-inch LCD screen. It will ship in two-toned gray/sliver color only.
The ultra-zoom PowerShot SX110 IS digital camera features a 9-megapixel sensor, 3-inch LCD screen and 10x optical zoom. It will be available in silver and black colors. The PowerShot E1 the teen friendly camera will have a 10-megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom and 2.5-inch LCD screen. It will be available in three colors blue, pink and white. All the four cameras will feature DIGIC 3 image processor, optical image stabilization, face detection, motion detection and red-eye correction.
The A1000 IS and A2000 IS will ship in September for $199.99 and $249.99 respectively. The ultra-zoom SX110 IS will ship this month for $299.99. The last in the lineup E1 will ship in mid-September for $199.99.
