Steve Jobs Entirely Focused on Tablet ProjectSubmitted by lalit on August 25, 2009 - 9:05am.
Wall Street Journal is reporting that after returning from a liver transplant in June, Steve Jobs is entirely focused on a new tablet device. People familiar with the situation told WSJ “Since his return in late June, the 54-year-old has been poring almost all of his attention into a new touch-screen gadget that Apple is developing. Those working on the project are under intense scrutiny from Mr. Jobs, particularly with regard to the product’s advertising and marketing strategy.” When WSJ request for comment, Steve Jobs responded via e-mail saying, “much of (their) information is incorrect”. WSJ further added that in past few years Jobs has nixed the tablet project twice, the first time because the battery life was too short, and the second time because there was insufficient memory. Steve Jobs is known for his attention to even the minutest detail and singular focus on design. When iPhone was released in 2007 it was reported that Jobs was involved in every detail of iPhone development from hardware and design to software and functionality. It is also known that till Jobs isn’t completely satisfied with a product, he won’t launch the product. And hence there are varying reports about when Apple plans to ship the new touchscreen device. We are just hoping they will release it as soon as possible (maybe September).
