Ricoh has unveiled successor of CX1 camera, the new CX2. It features the same 9-megapixel CMOS sensor as CX1, but offers larger 10.7x optical zoom, faster 5 fps continuous shooting modes, Pre- and Continuous-AF modes and additional scene modes. The camera has 3-inch LCD screen and Smooth Imaging Engine IV processor. CX2 follows the latest trend of putting sensors with high image quality and expanded dynamic range in compact size camera to get SLR like photo quality. Ricoh has added new modes like “high-contrast B&W mode” and “miniaturize mode” to stimulate creative photography. The CX2 can also take movies at 640 x 480 resolution and has ISO range of 80 to 1600. Ricoh CX2 will ship by mid September in three colors black, silver and pick/grey of £299.99 (about $500).
