Ars Technica has posted image of USBDeviceConfiguration.plist found in iPhone OS 3.1, which was released to developer recently. The plist adds new device reference iProd1,1. The first reference to iProd was discovered in iPhone OS 3.0 beta, which was released in March. Initially the device was identified as iProd0,1 in iPhone OS 3.0. Both the iProd references have different productID indicating that there might be two different products or two different versions of the same product. Ars bets that with a 1,1 moniker the product will see public release soon.

In another Apple tablet related story, the highly unreliable analyst Shaw Wu of Kaufman Bros. claims that Apple has been ordering large amounts of 4, 7, 9, 10, and 12-inch touchscreens over past two years. He believes that we will see multiple new devices in various form factors including a sub-notebook and/or tablet, and would more likely launch in 2010 as opposed to 2009. From what we have seen in past few years, Shaw Wu’s research notes are normally based on rumors posted by websites like AppleInsider or Macrumors, and most of the times he has been wrong.

Our sources say that Apple will definitely add a new touchscreen based product to its lineup later this year and most news websites are pointing towards imminent Apple tablet launch later this year.
