Samsung Unveils the New Galaxy Note7

Samsung today unveiled new Galaxy Note7 smartphone featuring smarter S Pen, HDR capable screen and iris scanner. Design-wise Note7 is very similar to Galaxy S7 Edge with a curved 5.7-inch Dual edge Super AMOLED screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution.

“The Galaxy Note7 combines productivity and entertainment, and strong security features. Powering a robust ecosystem, it is the ideal device for those who want to achieve more in life,” said DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. “Life moves faster than ever now so we created the Galaxy Note7 to move with users – helping them get things done more easily wherever, whenever.”

Other features of the smartphone are Octa-core processor, 12-megapixel camera, 5-megapixel front camera, 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage, up to 256GB microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, NFC and LTE Cat.9. Sensors included on the smartphone are barometer, fingerprint, gyro, geomagnetic, hall HRM, Iris, proximity and RGB light.

The Galaxy Note7 will be available starting on August 19, and will be offered in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx. No word on price yet. Check out the official introduction video posted by Samsung on Youtube below.
