Nikon has announced two new digital SLRs D300S and D3000. The D300s is a DX format 12.3-megapixel DSLR with CMOS sensor, 51-point autofocus and 7 frames per second continuous shooting mode. The camera will also shoot 720p video at 24fps and it has external stereo microphone input along with in camera movie editing. The startup time for the camera is 130 milliseconds and shutter release time is only 49 milliseconds. D330s also features dual card slots for CF/SD memory cards. Other features on D300S include Live View mode, quiet shutter mode, various picture control modes, 3-inch high-resolution LCD monitor, dust reduction system, image sensor cleaning and ISO range of 100 to 3200. The second camera is entry level DSLR D3000 that features 10.2-megapixel DX format CCD sensor with 3fps continuous shooting mode. The camera is aimed towards beginners and experienced compact users, it features a Guide Mode that can help new users to get the most out of a DSLR. The camera comes with 3-inch LCD screen, 11-point autofocus, scene recognition system, six picture control modes, various picture modes, in camera photo editing, dust reduction system, built in flash and ISO range of 100 to 1600.
