Apple Store Overnight Planned for MacBook Air and OS X Lion Launch on July 13Submitted by lalit on July 7, 2011 - 6:59pm.
9to5mac is reporting that Apple retail stores are planning an overnight for their employees on July 13 to prepare for new product launches. Overnight at Apple store are normally used for refreshing store displays and training employees on new products. Seth Weintraub of 9to5mac wrote: July 13th, however, lines up with our Lion release date pretty nicely. We’re expecting the Lion release obviously, and also some new MacBook Airs which may or may not have faster storage, a Sandy Bridge CPU and Thunderbolts coming out the side. Also, Apple has started advising members of its retail segment to take several preparatory measures ahead of an expected OS X Lion launch, according to AppleInsider. Kasper Jade of AppleInsider wrote: One person with access to the company's internal retail news network told AppleInsider that a new bulletin posted to the system this week is advising store management to perform RAM upgrades to certain Mac models on the showroom floors by Sunday, July 10th at the latest -- presumably in preparation for those models to be upgraded with Lion shortly thereafter. OS X Lion has already gone Gold Master and Apple could release it any day. Also we are hearing that new MacBook Air product is in full swing, which would indicate that an announcement is coming soon.
