NVIDIA Announces Top-of-The-Line GeForce GTX 580M and 570M Graphics Cards for Laptops

NVIDIA has announced two new top-of-the-line graphics processors for laptops – GeForce GTX 580M and GTX 570M. NVIDIA claims that GTX 580M is the world’s fastest notebook graphics processing unit (GPU). GeForce GTX 580M GPUs are the fastest Microsoft DirectX 11 notebook GPUs on the market, offering up to six times the tessellation performance of any other notebook GPU. They are also more efficient, with up to 20 percent better performance per watt than the previous generation.

The GeForce GTX 580M features 384 graphics cores, up to 2GB GDDR5 memory, 1240MHz processor clock, 1500MHz memory clock and 256-bit memory width. The first laptops to feature GTX 580M are Alienware M18x and Alienware M17x, offering up to 100 frames per second performance in Call of Duty: Black Ops and up to 5 hours battery life.

The second graphics card GeForce GTX 570M comes with 336 graphics cores, up to 3GB GDDR5 memory, 1150MHz processor clock speed, 1500MHz memory clock speed and 192-bit memory width. MSI GT780R is the first laptop to get the new GTX 570M graphics card and is available now.
