Apple introduced the new iPhone 3GS on 8th June and started shipping the phone on 19th June. The new iPhone 3GS packs faster process, more memory and better graphics engine. Apple claims that iPhone 3GS is twice as fast as iPhone 3G and has longer battery life for every feature except 3G talk time, which stays at 5 hours. The other features that iPhone 3GS brings to the table are higher quality 3-megapixel camera with autofocus, video recording, voice control, Nike+, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA support, OpenGL ES 2.0 support for faster 3D graphics and built-in digital compass. iPhone 3GS is available in 16GB model and 32GB model.

Most reviewers agree that the S in iPhone 3GS stands for speed, and the new phone is faster, more powerful and overall better than its predecessor iPhone 3G. David Pogue of NY Times puts it the best “All of these changes make it much harder to resist the iPhone on intellectual, feature-counting grounds. The new iPhone doesn’t just catch up to its rivals – it vaults a year ahead of them. At this point, the usual 10 rational objections to iPhone have been whittled down to about three: no physical keyboard, no way to swap the battery yourself and no way to avoid using AT&T as your carrier. In short, the substantially improved, still elegant iPhone 3G S makes it dangerously easy for your heart and your head to agree.”
