Samsung Announces Four New Smartphones

Samsung has announced four new smartphones this week. Leading the pack is Samsung Jet a touchscreen phone with 3.1-inch AMOLED display and 800MHz Samsung 6410 processor. Other hardware features on the phone are 5-megapixel camera, quad band GSM, dual band HSDPA (900/2100), dual LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2GB internal memory and microSD card slot.

The second phone in the lineup is Omnia II i8000, a Windows Mobile 6.1 powered smartphone. Omnia II features 3.7-inch (480 x 800) AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, quad band GSM, tri band HSPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and microSD card slot. The phone will be available with 2GB, 8GB or 16GB internal storage capacity. The Omnia II will measure 4.6” x 2.4” x 0.5” and have battery life of 10 hours 3G talk time.

The third phone that Samsung announced was Samsung OmniaPRO B7610, touchscreen phone with slide-out QWERTY keyboard aimed at corporate users. Hardware features on the phone are 3.5-inch (800 x 480) AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, quad band GSM, dual band HSPA (900/2100MHz), WiFi, Bluetooth, 1GB internal memory and microSD card slot. The phone will measure 4.4” x 2.3” x 0.6” and feature a 1500mAh battery.

The last phone in the lineup is OmniaPRO B7320, a candybar shaped smartphone with full QWERTY keyboard. The phone comes with 2.45-inch (240 x 320) LCD screen, 3-megapixel camera, quad band GSM, dual band HSPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and microSD card slot. The OmniaPRO B7320 will measure 4.6” x 2.4” x 0.5” and feature a 1480mAh battery.
All four phones will be based on Windows Mobile 6.1. Samsung has provided no information about pricing and availability for the phones yet.
