Motorola Announces MILESTONE XT720 on Wrong Day

Like everyone else didn’t Motorola knew Apple is going to introduce the new iPhone today or were they trying to fight for limelight with Apple by announcing their new top of the line MILESTONE XT720 Android handset. The new handset is one of the world’s slimmest 8-megpixel Android smartphones and the first to have a Xenon Flash.

The sleek 10.9mm MILESTONE XT720 offers an 8-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, 10x digital zoom, and a 720p HD camcorder. Features on the camera are Smart image capture, easy panorama, face detection, multi-shot (six shots in a row), face filter, red eye reduction and camera shake prevention. The phone also has HDMI output for viewing of HD video on HDTV. The Android 2.1 handset has a 3.7-inch WVGA (480 x 854) screen and comes with 8GB microSD for storage.

The MILESTONE will come loaded with Google mobile applications including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube are also integrated onto the device, as well as Motorola’s MOTONAV turn-by-turn navigation. No word on price yet, but the handset should go on sale in Europe by end of this month. SlashGear has posted hands-on preview of the handset, video added below.
