Sony Ericsson Announces Environmentally Friendly C901 GreenHeart and Naite HandsetsSubmitted by lalit on June 4, 2009 - 7:50pm.
Sony Ericsson today announced two Environmentally friendly handset C901 GreenHeart and Naite. Both the handset are made using recycled plastic, painted with waterborne paints and shipped in eco-friendly packaging. The handsets come with EP900 GreenHeart low-power charger that reduces carbon footprint by 15 percent over the lifespan of the phone. The C901 also includes MH300 GreenHeart headset that uses 100 percent recycled plastics in 4 out of 5 hard plastic parts. The C901 features 2.2-inch QVGA screen, 5-megapixel camera, quad band GSM, dual band HSPA (900/2100MHz), 100MB internal memory, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD car slot. The Naite handset has the same features as C901 except it comes with 2-megapixel camera in place of 5-megapixel. The green handsets C901 will ship by next month and the Natie will ship sometime in Q3 2009. Sony says it won’t stop at these two handsets and the company plans to make its complete mobile phone lineup environmentally friendly in future.
