Leica has introduced that new 14.1-megapixel V-Lux 30 featuring Leica DC Vario-Elmar 4.3 – 68.8mm f/3.3-5.9 ASPH, 16x zoom lens. The camera has a LCD touchscreen along with integrated GPS and 1080i video recording. The newly developed 1/2.33” CMOS sensor on Leica V-Lux 30 can shoot 10fps (frames per second) at full 14.1-megapixel resolution, or 60fps with reduced resolution. The video mode on the camera supports the entire 16x zoom range during video recording and the integrated stereo microphone with electronic wind noise filter guarantees crystal-clear sound outdoors. The 3-inch LCD 460,000 pixel touchscreen allows user to control many camera features and some image editing capabilities. With the integrated GPS D-Lux 30 records the geographical coordinates of the location and the local time for every shot and saves them in the Exif data of the image files. When travelling, the V-Lux 30 can also display the sightseeing highlights of the immediate neighborhood (1,000,000 so-called “Points of Interest”). The Leica V-Lux 30 will be available beginning June 2011 priced $749. It will come with extensive software package comprising of Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Adobe Premiere Elements 9.
