Sony Debuts three New Entry-Level Digital SLRs A230, A330 and A380

Sony has added three new digital SLRs to its camera lineup. Sony Alpha A230, A330 and A380 will replace previous generation A200, A300 and A350 respectively. The A230 and A330 will have 10-megapixel sensor, whereas the A380 will have 14-megapixel sensor.

All three cameras will have sensitivity range of ISO 100 to ISO 3,200, 2.5fps continuous shooting mode, 9 points auto focus and dual memory car slots supporting Memory Stick Duo and SDHC standard. The A330 and A380 will feature 2.7-inch tiltable Live View LCD, whereas the A230 will have 2.7-inch fixed LCD without Live View capability.

The Sony A230 priced $549 with 18-55mm lens and A330 priced $649.99 with 18-55mm lens will compete with Canon Rebel XS and Nikon D60. The higher end Sony A380 priced $849 with 18-55mm lens will compete with Canon Rebel T1i and Nikon D5000. All three cameras will be available for pre-order this week, but they won’t ship until July.
