Sony had updated their VAIO P Series netbooks, which Sony claims is a notebook not a netbook. VAIO P series now comes with built-in GPS and digital compass for location aware applications. The netbook also features a built-in accelerometer, which allows flicking through pictures or pages of a PDF or navigate back and forth through your web browsing history just by giving a gentle shake to the VAIO.

Sony has added brand-new VAIO Location Search software that offers a real-time map view without tying up your web browser. Your map position and orientation are displayed along with nearby Points of Interest and even local weather conditions.

The VAIO P Series will be available with choice of Intel Atom Z530, Z540 or Z560 processors with 8-inch 1600 x 768 screen, 64GB SSD, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 3G support, WiFi and Bluetooth. It will ship in five colors including black, white, pink, green and orange in June 2010. No word on price yet.
