We all know that Mac OS X Lion will bring many features that are inspired by iOS. And two features revealed in latest Mac OS X Lion preview build show that Apple is definitely bringing iOS like simplicity to many regular tasks on Mac. AppleInsider posted images showing the new popup Download menu in Safari. Apple has added a new icon to the right of search field in Safari toolbar that reveals list of downloads, progress on current download and links to downloaded files. The popup download menu looks just like popup menu on iPad.

On the Mac App Store side in Lion, Apple has added iOS like app uninstall feature making it easier to remove unwanted apps. TUAW posted screenshot of the new app uninstaller in lion that allows user to “click and hold the mouse cursor on an app's icon; after a brief pause, all the app icons will begin jiggling. An X will appear in the upper left-hand corner of the icons.” And just like on the iPhone or iPad user can click on the X icon to delete the app. A dialog box pop-up asking user “Are you sure you want to delete the application?” The new app uninstaller only works on apps purchased through the Mac App Store and for other applications user still have to go and delete files, if an uninstaller is not provided by the given application.

Apple is definitely trying to bring iOS like simplicity to Mac OS X so that the new Mac users are more comfortable with the new OS. As most new Mac users are coming from either iPhone or iPad background. Check out the video below showing some of the new features in Mac OS X Lion.
