There has been lot of talk going about privacy since the plain text location data file was discovered on iOS. Both Apple and Google have confirmed that they record locations data on device. But while Apple says that the data is never transferred to the mother ship and it always remains on the device or in the backup made by the user, Google hasn’t commented on the topic.

All Things Digital has posted a video of Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs, and Google’s SVP of mobile Andy Rubin, talking about privacy at the D conference. In the video Steve Jobs clearly says, “We take privacy extremely seriously” and no user data will leave the device without their explicit permission. On the other hand, Andy dodges the question few times by saying it’s a “trust and verify” issue.

We all know Google saves lot of data when we do search or use any Google application, so what is stopping them from taking user data like location from Android devices without permission.
