Nokia Announces First Windows Phone with NFC SupportSubmitted by lalit on April 11, 2012 - 12:32pm.
Nokia today announced an NFC version of recently launched Nokia Lumia 610. It will be the first and most affordable Windows Phone handset to bring NFC (near field communication) support. Lumia 610 NFC can pair with NFC accessories and read NFC tags with a single tap. It also comes with all necessary hardware and software for NFC payment and ticketing solutions. Nokia says that Lumia 610 NFC has been certified for contactless payments both with MasterCard for their PayPass solution, and with Visa’s mobile application for payments at the point of sale, Visa payWave. Nokia Lumia 610 NFC will ship in Q3 2012, no word on price yet. Check out the video below in which Nokia’s Andrea Bacioccola explains how people can use NFC on the Lumia 610 NFC.
