HTC Reveals Snap Candybar Smartphone with QWERTY Keyboard

HTC today debuted Snap – a Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone featuring QWERTY keyboard, 3G support, GPS and WiFi b/g. The phone comes with 1,500mAh battery that gives it 5 hours of 3G talk time, 8.5 hours of GSM talk time and 15.8 days of standby. Snap measures 4.59” x 2.42” x 0.47” and weighs 4.32oz. It will come in two versions, one for US with 850/1900MHz HSPA and another with 900/2100MHz HSPA for rest of the world.

The hardware on the phone will be 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen, 2-megapixel camera, Qualcomm MSM 7225 528MHz processor, 256MB ROM, 192MB RAM and microSD card slot. On the software side the phone will have Windows Live Search, Microsoft Outlook, Exchange and new Inner Circle feature from HTC. Inner Circle allows users to press a dedicated Inner Circle key to bring emails from preselected group of people to the top of their inbox.

HTC will ship Snap in UK and US during summer, no word on pricing yet.
