Mac OS X Snow Leopard to See Major UI OverhaulSubmitted by lalit on March 25, 2009 - 5:07pm.
AppleInsider is reporting that the pre-release build of Mac OS X Snow Leopard given to the developers has been stripped of several features including a major UI overhaul. According to their sources next developer build of the software will see some major changes to the upcoming Mac OS X 10.6, include a striking overhaul to Mac OS X user interface. The platinum theme of the UI will be replaced by a new interface codenamed “marble”. The new interface will adopt iTunes style scrollbars and a darker chrome motif for application windows along with an inverted menubar with light text on dark background. The new QuickTime X player in the latest developer build of Snow Leopard is a direct indication of the new minimalistic interface that Apple will follow throughout the OS. Apple will announce release dates and preview a complete version of Snow Leopard at WWDC 2009. According to AppleInsider’s sources, it should take Apple about two months to fine-tune the software after public preview at WWDC 2009. This means that Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard will be released by end of summer 2009.
